Get PrEP & PEP

PrEP

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is the gold standard for HIV prevention for HIV-negative individuals at risk of contraction. There are two types of PrEP available: a daily pill and a bi-monthly injection. Join our PrEP program and get your medication delivered for free by partner pharmacies.

PeP

PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) is an emergency medication available to block HIV transmission after possible exposure. PEP should be taken as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours of exposure. Make an appointment with one of our providers who will help you make a plan to remain risk-free and conduct follow-up testing.

Gender-affirming care

Housing Works has been an advocate for transgender rights for over three decades and is honored to support trans New Yorkers in their journeys. In addition to clinical services, we work one-on-one with each individual to connect to advocacy, stable living conditions, legal support, and mental health counseling. Learn more about our gender-affirming care here.

Harm reduction & disease prevention

Harm reduction helps people using substances lower their overall health risks and reduces the barriers to getting help by removing judgment and prioritizing compassion.

Sterile syringes are one of the best ways to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading HIV and Hep C. Housing Works Community Healthcare provides access and guidance in proper syringe use, safety kits, and counseling for those in need. With radical prevention, we can stop the spread of life-altering diseases.
